TELECOMMUNICATION/ICT
TCRA regulates telecommunications and internet services by ensuring that they are provided according to national and international standards and those outlined in the Electronic and Postal Communications Act (EPOCA) and regulations in place. Through these regulations, TCRA ensures that telecommunications and internet services meet the statutory national and international standards and that malpractices in telecommunications and internet services are controlled. Additionally, TCRA ensures that consumers of telecommunications and internet services are registered, thus improving services.
BROADCASTING CONTENT
Broadcasting implies the provision of content through radio and television networks, reaching more people in real-time faster than other means of communication. Also, TCRA is responsible for ensuring that content broadcast by radio and television stations complies with laws and regulations governing the broadcasting subsector, as well as the standards and ethics of the broadcasting subsector. It is the Authority's duty to promote the creation, production, and distribution of local content that advance Tanzanians' heritage, legacy, customs, and ways of life. Further it is the responsibility of the Authority to put in place strategies that will ensure universal access of broadcasting services in our country.
POSTAL SERVICES
Postal services involve the conveyance and delivery of mail, documents, and parcels from senders through postal and courier services. Through postal and courier services, users can conveniently order goods and have them home-delivered to their physical addresses. The use of physical addresses and postcodes has increased the postal sector's contribution to the development of the digital economy. TCRA sets the standards of quality of postal services and monitors compliance by all service providers in order to protect consumer rights.
