The Electronic and Postal Communications Act (EPOCA) empowers TCRA to research and report on new technologies; propose national technological development; and prepare policies for development of the national technology.

TCRA is also required to carry out field investigations including periodic measuring quality of service; and to inform the public of reports, studies and regulations as and when published.
